    Bean bag sizes will depend on how it will be utilized. Their usage varies with some being for recreational and others for more practical purposes. The bean bags can be used as a juggling bag, a stand or a chair.

    Bean Bag Chairs

    These chairs do not have a standard size because they often conform to the individual’s body. However many adult chairs measure 34 x 34 x 27 inches. For children, the chairs measure 100 x 143 cm. The materials used for the chairs vary.

    The most common are tie dyes, polyester fur or cotton. Many of these chairs are made of leather, nylon or vinyl. The bean bag sizes for chairs will also depend on how many people are supposed to sit on it. Some chairs are made for a single person. Others are designed for two or three people.

    Juggling Bags, Stands and Weighed Bases

    If they’re going to be used as juggling bags, the sizes would range from 5, 7, 10 to 20 cubic feet. The smaller types are for studying purposes. If the bean bag is to be used as a weighted bag, the size should be 12 x 12 x 16 cm.

    For a stand the bean bag should be measured by weight. The ideal figures are 100 g, 200 g, 500 g or about 1 kg. These bean bag sizes should prove sufficient for placing items like a cell phone.

    Composition and Materials

    These bags don’t just contain beans. Other fillings are used including beads and other materials. Other manufacturers use polystyrene beads, millet, PVC pellets and dried peas. The outer coverings used for the various bean bags also vary.

    Use in Games

    The bean bag is also used in games. These include the bean bag toss (or cornhole in the US). The game is akin to horseshoes and quilts. Aside from the bean bags, the game is played with two goals.

    The footbag is a kind of bean bag utilized in different games. In gridiron football, these bags are utilized to note the point of possession change (i.e., a kickoff, interception fumble or punt).

    Use as Piece of Furniture

    While bean bag furniture is made from various materials, the most common are PVC pellets and Styrofoam. The bean bag furniture was popular from the 1960s to the 1970s. They regained popularity during the 1990s. Most of the products sold then were made from crushed polyurethane. Sometimes this material is called expanded polystyrene or EPS.

    The bead sizes used for the bean bags are usually between 3 to 9 mm. But now there are also beads that measure 1 to 3 mm in diameter. After a few years the bean bags will get squeezed. The contents however, can be refilled. The designs vary, but the most common are the sack, teardrop, cylinder and armchair.

    As the bean bag sizes evolved, the shapes changed also. Today there are now bean bags made to resemble animals and other shapes. They are now sold all over the world.
