When zits or pimples appear, especially on the face; this can cause distress for the affected person and can also lead to losing one’s self-confidence.

It may sound like too much of an exaggerated reaction but for those who have been suffering from zits for most of their lives, these can tremendously affect their self-confidence, always being conscious about their appearance.

As a matter of fact, no matter what size, when this appears anywhere on the face; people always feel that they have the largest zit in the world; even if it really is just a tiny red dot.

Largest Zit – How Big Can It Get?

There are actually no written records of actual zit or pimple sizes. Perhaps this is because not a lot of people take the time to actually measure these.

The most important thing is to get rid of these at the soonest time possible, without leaving any marks or scars particularly if these are on the face.

On the other hand, there have been claims that the largest zit ever recorded on video measures about three inches in diameter. However, disputes arose over whether or not the said pustule is actually a zit or this is actually more of a tumor that grew on the skin.

You can actually find videos of this claimed largest pimple in the world over the internet. If you have the stomach for it, you can see it being popped.

On the one hand, pimples do grow to an uncomfortable size – large enough to be painful and cause physical as well as emotional discomfort. These can grow up to about 0.1967 of an inch in diameter; which roughly translates to 5 millimeters.

How to Get Rid of Zits

Once zits appear, what all of us want to do is to get rid of them – fast! However, desperate measures sometimes lead to getting the zits infected or worsening the condition.

One way of getting rid of zits is to spot-treat them. What this means is that you apply certain over-the-counter pimple treatment medications just on the zit itself.

These usually work within two to three days after application – or as indicated by your specific ointment or cream.

However, if your condition persists or worsens, your best option is to visit a dermatologist who can advise you on the best way to get rid of your zit without leaving any scars on your face or having other areas on your face infected as well.
